Spence-Chapin is a not-for profit, non-sectarian adoption agency providing international and domestic adoption services, options counseling and support for women facing unplanned pregnancies, and a continuum of support for adoptees, birth families, and adoptive parents throughout their lifetimes. Started over 100 years ago and located on the upper east side of Manhattan, the agency has satellite offices in New Jersey and Long Island. Will be responsible for managing all international adoption programs and staff to ensure safe, ethical adoptions. Determines appropriate departmental structure; develops an effective and cohesive team. Develops, updates and implements departmental policies and procedures to insure a quality program and the best possible service for clients. Guides department’s approach for client recruitment, assessment, and preparation for adoptive parenting.
 



Director of Development
The Moving Picture Institute, an organization dedicated to identifying and nurturing promising filmmakers who are committed to protecting and sustaining a free society, seeks a Director of Development to oversee fundraising efforts. The Director of Development can be based in New York, NY (where MPI is based) or can work remotely. The Director of Development will report directly to the Executive Director and work with the directors of program and development. The director will Develop and implement a cohesive fundraising strategy for the Moving Picture Institute, including strategies for high dollar donors, foundations, and corporate donors, work closely with the Executive Director, staff, and board of directors to implement the fundraising strategy, including making recommendations on how time can be most effectively utilized in a fundraising capacity, and maintain relationships with individuals who currently support MPI and identify and develop relationships with key individual prospects.

Associate II - Development
The Associate II/Development will be responsible for cultivating relationships with individuals with a history of 'mid level' gifts to CRS. The A.D. will cultivate donors through personal, face-to-face contact. National Event Manager
You will oversee and manage all aspects of the NAMI Bicycle Rides, a multiple distance ride for people who want to make a difference in the lives of those living with mental illness. Net proceeds fund innovative programs at the national level and in local communities. You will also identify and approach event sponsors at the local and national level; and facilitate the fulfillment of all sponsor benefits. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for all aspects of event planning and implementation, to include course design and signage, local/state agency and venue management and coordination, volunteer coordination plan, event say support and documentation (manuals, technical guides, maps, timelines, etc.) Your office will be located in your home, near a major airport, or NAMI National Office.
 




Director Needed
Organize and direct the Media Consortium, a dynamic and growing network of 50 leading progressive media organizations in the country. Our mission: to amplify independent media’s voice, increase our collective clout, leverage our current audience and reach new ones. We accomplish this mission by fulfilling our five strategic principles. Now five years old, The Media Consortium has moved from a period of growth and experimentation to a more strategic realization of its mission. We seek a Director with excellent strategy and organizational development experience to work with the Consortium’s leadership and members to deepen the organization’s strategic direction and impact. Work with TMC Coordinating Committee, MC members, and MC contractors to implement the organization’s strategic principles that fulfill The Media Consortium’s mission and goals, oversee ongoing membership recruitment and engagement strategy with staff, and organize quarterly coordinating committee conference calls and annual in-person meeting.
 




Development Director
InTheFray Magazine seeks a trainee to help out with researching and writing applications for grants. The Development Director will be responsible for researching grants and writing grant proposals for InTheFray as well as advising the Board and Marketing Director on grant funding and donor status. Additional responsibilities will include: update and maintain donor database, manage donor communications (i.e. thank-you notes, donor gifts, etc) and serve as the key contact for donor information and service, help with donor drive, donor newsletter, and other fundraising projects, attend staff meetings in person or via phone to discuss planning, donor updates, and ITF events. We will provide the necessary training; what we're looking for is someone who has good writing and research skills. This position may be a good fit for a freelancer who wants to learn an additional set of skills, or a recent graduate who is interested in aiding in the growth of a nonprofit publication. The Development Director will be expected to attend staff meetings in person or via phone and help occasionally with other projects. Applicants should be able to commit to a minimum of six months in this position. A stipend is included for the position.

Participatory Culture Foundation, (PCF) a growing 501c3 non-profit organization is dedicated to supporting a democratic media by creating an open and decentralized video environment and supporting individuals with disability.  PCF is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Development to design and execute a comprehensive and sustainable development program for this entrepreneurial and quickly growing organization. Reporting directly to and working closely with the Executive Director, the Director of Development will design and drive fund development efforts to meet annual operating revenue goals in the range of $1M from a variety of sources but focusing on major gifts and foundations. The Foundation helps contributors invest in a medical institution with a proven record of distinction in many specialties, including cardiac, stroke, cancer, women & children, orthopaedics and rehabilitation. The position will primarilly focus on responding to the needs of Medical Diplomat Council Members, research and recording activity with Medical Diplomats. This is a PRN position which will have flexible hours and the ability to be on-call as needed. Telecommuting is possible for many functions of the position.
